I have been named Associate Dean for the new College of Social Sciences, effective January 1! It's a big deal, and both exciting and terrifying.

ISTR you being disappointed you didn't get that status in '09.
I may have missed a "good news" announcement since then.
I'm sure my confusion isn't helped by the fact that our Unis run a bit differently on this side of the pond.
